Unilever Four Acres
We were commissioned by Unilever’s Four Acres on George Road, Kingston to produce a set of one off artworks for their permanent art collection.
Overview
The site is used for global executive training sessions for delegates who fly in from all over the world staying at the inspirational hub. Only two such sites of excellence exist in the world, and the other is in Singapore.
Unilever’s art collection includes Michael Landy, Chris Ofili, Cornelia Parker amongst others and Acrylicise worked to curate a selection of existing works, new works and bespoke works from Studio KT1 artists.
A group of 11 KSA students, alumni and graduates responded to an open call and for the following 12 months worked closely with the teams at Unilever, their brands and Acrylicise.
Fine Art, Illustration, Animation, Product Design and Furniture, Art Direction and Photography were involved and produced both 3D and 2D work ranging from bespoke woven textiles to ceramics to cyanotype prints and photo montage.
We were lucky enough to enjoy the hospitality at Four Acres with site visits, pitches and the final launch party in March 2022, giving the artists the full experience of working with the client, pitching and working on and offsite. The project was not without its issues: the building and renovation of the site took much longer than expected and doubled in length.
Artworks now fill the brand meeting rooms Vaseline, Knorr, Axe, Hellmans, Marmite, Persil :Dirt is Good, Lifebuoy and Surf, each one with its own colour schemes and setting.
The works were produced, fabricated and installed at the end of March 2022 and will sit in perpertuity at the site for many future leaders to enjoy.
