Kingston Sculpture Trail

In June 2021 we were approached by a collective from Stanley Picker Gallery, Kingston First, Canbury Gardens Trust and Kingston Council to create a brand and identity for an upcoming Sculpture Trail around Kingston featuring ten artists selected by a panel including David Mach RA.

Overview

A group of three students worked on the project remotely over Zoom, Teams and Google Hangout across the country. Esdras De Costa, Imogen Ashby and Sophie Smith presented ideas and sketches to the committees over a period of weeks and honed their ideas inspired by Kingston to create a unique font based on the local landscape and environment

The students produced a full asset bank with brand guidelines, colour palettes, banners and posters, social media formats and print as well as QR codes with more information about each artist and their work.

The trail launched in August 2021 and encouraged families, locals and visitors to get out and about to find the artworks across the borough.

“Just wanted to thank you again for all your work, we're so pleased with the end result and you were fab with all the rounds of amends! You should all be really proud”
