Following the success of our past exhibition in 2024, Cass Art invited us once more to host an exhibition. The No, You Take It exhibition showcases artworks from Kingston School of Art students and graduates, all who have East and Southeast Asian backgrounds. Held at the Art Space in Cass Art Kingston. There was an open call for artworks, which was reviewed by the curation panel. In the end, 11 artists were selected, each showing a few works.
‘No, You Take It’ A Lunar New Year Exhibition presented by Studio KT1
The exhibition will open this week and until Feb 27th 2025 at Cass Art Kingston, 103 Clarence Street
The exhibition is titled after Clarissa Kumala’s artwork ‘No, You Take It’, referencing the conversation occurring during a Lunar New Year family meal about the quickly disappearing siomay. In the words of one of our curators Hai Hoang, ‘this very Asian sentence you say when there is only one last piece of dim sum on the table'.
Showcasing the work of 11 East and Southeast Asian artists within the Kingston University student and graduate community.
