Canary Wharf Group

We developed a relationship with Canary Wharf Group and had previously pitched to be part of their Light Festival but jumped at the chance for a new brief.

Overview

Having seen our work in Kingston with Kingston First and the Kingston Canvas project Canary Wharf Group approached us with a brief to do the same on their estate. Due to the pandemic, they had sadly lost retailers and some shops were empty.

Back in April as the UK was still in lockdown, 14 students from across Kingston School of Art all pitched their concepts to the team. The client asked for colourful and abstract but with a nod to sustainability and something to catch the eye as the Wharf moved out of lockdown.

The work varied from underwater sea creatures, fantasy landscapes, imagined utopias and gaming challenges.

Louise Ju Yi Hung’s illustration was chosen to cover a vacant REISS store in Jubilee Place, Canary Wharf and went up in October 2021 for a months’ display.
